Refresh your smoothie selections with this great recipe for a healthy green and bright drink without all the sugar and syrups that can be added at smoothie chains.

A great way to start your day, or recharge with a fast and healthy snack when your energy levels are getting low, the Piña Greenlada smoothie blends together pineapple, a source of bromelain that aids in digestion and reducing inflammation, spinach, a super source of antioxidants, and coconut milk, which is not only delicious, but also provides a bacteria-fighting fat. Adding chia seeds boosts the amount of Omega-3 fats, which boost health to help us stay ahead of issues ranging from heart disease to depression.  To add protein to the smoothie, you can boost it with a vanilla protein powder and/or Greek yogurt.


 1 cup spinach

½ cup frozen pineapple (frozen has WAY less sugar than canned!)

¼ cup coconut water

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 cup almond milk

Optional Additions:

Swap almond milk for coconut water

Add Greek yogurt for more protein

Add vanilla protein powder

 Simply blend all ingredients in a high powered blender until smooth. Enjoy!
