THE SCHOLÉ SYSTEM

The Scholé System is not new, and we do not claim ownership or invention over its teachings. In fact, we largely consider it’s precepts to be basic common sense. We draw great inspiration for our work from a variety of sources, but none as influential as classical Vipassana meditation and Ashtanga Vinyasa. The goal of the system is very simple: to be better today than we were yesterday and better tomorrow than we were today.

SCHOLÉ STYLES

Scholé is the most diverse and free of all yoga systems, and every Scholé Yoga Certified Teacher is trained to develop their own unique voice and version of the system. Although the full system is comprised of ten different styles, the following three serve as a foundation to help guide new teachers and give students a baseline for what to expect..

SCHOLÉ AXIOMS

An axiom is a statement or proposition that is considered established, accepted, and self-evidently true. Scholé axioms come from personal experience and observation, and can be found for yourself in every class.  

  • There is a lesson to be learned in every moment

  • Sensation and emotion are two of life’s greatest teachers

  • Laughter and play are the fountains of youth

  • You are your own best teacher

  • Exercise and rest are essential to vibrant health

  • Intimacy and touch are basic human needs

  • Living in the moment is the key to living well
